Kinja'd!!!

She has been throwing up all day, sleeping, and in general feels like crap. Thing is, now she can't remember her name, my name, my parents names, what month it is, where she is, how old she is, etc. I know some of you are doctors, and wonder if anyone has seen this before. Thanks guys, here's some car pr0nz:

Edit: my mom is taking her to the ER right now.

Hospital. Now. Haven't seen this before, but some viral infections might cause short term memory problems. But time might also be a factor here so HOSPITAL! GO!

I would say that you should get her to the ER right away. I'm not a doctor, but that really doesn't sound right. You are better off going to the hospital where they can properly diagnose her illness rather than self diagnose off of information on the interwebz.

Thanks for the Audi. Hope your sis feels better. But seriously, memory loss while being sick should be a red flag trip to the ER immediately.

I'd say go to the hospital. NOW. Any clue what her temp is?

Yeah, gonna have to agree with "this is a trip to the ER pronto" disease. Seriously, if it's something fever or viral related, delaying could mean permanent brain damage.

Not a doctor, but this doesn't sound like something to mess around with. Your sister needs medical attention NOW! Take her to the hospital.

As others have said, get off of Oppo and get your sister to a hospital as fast as you can.

I am assuming she also has an extremely high fever as well right? If so I think that is a possible cause and she needs an Ice bath and a trip to the hospital ASAP.

If it was my decision, she'd have been there hours ago. Sadly, I'm not old enough for a license, but my mom is on her way there right now.

Yeah I agree, I am thinking it is a viral infection of the brain or spinal cord. The warning bells for meningitis and encephalitis are going off everywhere right now. The symptoms while vague excluding the memory loss match up a lot from the description by the national institute of neurological disorders and stroke.

"Infections, and less commonly other causes, in the brain and spinal cord can cause dangerous inflammation. This inflammation can produce a wide range of symptoms, including fever, headache, seizures, change in behavior or confusion and, in extreme cases, can cause brain damage, stroke, or even death.

Infection of the meninges, the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord, is called meningitis and inflammation of the brain itself is called encephalitis. Myelitis refers to inflammation of the spinal cord. When both the brain and the spinal cord are involved, the condition is called encephalomyelitis."

I posted somewhere else on another comment that it could also be meningitis or encephalitis; a viral infection of the brain and/or spinal cord. As soon as you start to have slurred speech and impaired thoughts and memories it is a huge red flag that needs immediate medical attention.

I hope it's not anything serious, like meningitis or encephalitis, but I have a bad feeling. She's at the ER at the moment, my mom will tell me when she knows more from the doctor. Thanks for the help!

I looked up both, she has a lot of the meningitis symptoms- memory loss, stiffness, headaches, and vomiting. She doesn't have a fever, though. I hop to hear from my mom soon that she's ok!

You know, you can always call an ambulance for something like that if your parents aren't around or can't get home soon.

In any case, I'm praying she gets better. Actually praying — I'm not one to just say that.

Hope she is ok!

Maybe hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)? I've seen diabetic friends have similar symptoms (although never with nausea - which the American Diabetes Assn says is a possible symptom).
